After a break for the summer growing season, we're back with a bang with a very special guest at Manorbier House.On Friday 19th September, we're inviting Bristol legend DJ Polo over to south Pembrokeshire's finest party cafe.
Over the past decade, DJ Polo has emerged as one of the UK's most consistent producers and DJs of UK funky, percussive dance music, and bass-heavy South African house styles like gqom and amapiano. Between managing record label Club Djembe, holding down regular shows on London's Rinse FM and Bristol's SWU, and playing across the UK and Europe, DJ Polo has recently collaborated with Breaka and Swordman Kitala, Scratcha DVA, and dropped fresh releases on Night Slugs, Livity Sound and Mad City to name just a few. It's going to be a very rare treat to catch DJ Polo playing in an intimate venue over these ways. Expect major drum thumpers.
Right before DJ Polo takes over, Ginger Bug mainstay Sal will be going back to back with our decor designer turned rising Pembs DJ - Chinche. They'll be celebrating Chinche's birthday with a primetime set sure to be packed with Afrobeat heat, banging dancehall and reggaeton-inspired rhythms.
Pembrokeshire's own Sadsugar will be returning to the decks after a wild set at our January Imbolc party, bringing bass-heavy rollers. Jack Ford, chief dancer and local lord of the rave will be revealing one of his other talents - performing his poetry over an ambient set by Nerveplant. Shadow Flute will be warming up the soundsystem subs on the early slot with some crafty dub cuts.
Our decor team will be installing foraged and natural art to mark the transition from late summer to autumn.
