Learn how to ferment non-alcoholic ginger beer! This process uses yeast (instead of a ginger bug) and only a few other simple ingredients. No special equipment or experience are necessary.Participants will sample seven flavors of ginger beer; learn how to ferment and infuse their own ginger beer; practice making the recipe; and take home a bottle of their own creation, a measuring cup and spoon, a jar of their favorite infusion ingredient, and a packet of wine yeast.
Instruction will be provided by Breanne LeJeune of Tomato Cat Farm, an urban hobby farm and home bakery based in Christiansburg.
This will be a mellow event with time to relax, ask questions, and gain hands-on experience.
Registration is required so we know how many people to provide supplies/flights for. Because fermentation produces a residual amount of alcohol, participants must be 21+ years old.
