Mark your calendars for the Season Opener Exhibition, with featured artists, Brooke Trace, Jazz Ambassador Ginetta's Vendetta, and Author Jill Cohen. Artist Meet and Greet Benefitting North Beach Art and Charity 501C3, to be held on Thursday, October 17th from 6-9 p.m., North Beach Art Gallery Galt Ocean Plaza, 3334 NE 34th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.
Renowned artist, Gallerist, and Photographer Brooke Trace is the featured artist. Brooke styled, photographed, and designed Ginetta Vendetta’s Fun Size Front Album Cover. She is known for her photography as she captures the beauty in nature. Additionally, she was selected and created the Seminole Hardrock Winterfest Boat Parade artwork in 2019. She has been juried into many shows and festivals in the South Florida area. She has had a gallery in Fort Lauderdale for more than 24 years. She not only exhibits her artwork but also promotes and features many other artists.
Triple-Threat female powerhouse Ginetta M. who plays Pocket Trumpet, sings, composes, and leads her internationally acclaimed band. This will be her CD release event for her new CD, “Fun Size”. She arranged all the tunes and the composer on two of the selections. Ginetta’s Vendetta© worldwide is a recognized UNESCO Jazz Ambassador. She is continually spreading the Gospel of Jazz, what she calls: “America’s Greatest Export”, through festivals, tours, gigs, workshops, podcasts, and more. On her 6th CD as a bandleader: “Fun Size”, she features a stellar lineup of NYC’s best musicians including Jon Davis-Piano, Danny Walsh-Tenor & Soprano Sax, Marcello Pellitteri-Drums, Belden Bullock-Bass and Ginetta M.-Pocket Trumpet & Vocals.
“Do you think about me on my birthday?” is the second book by Author Jill Cohen. A memoir, this book is a “creative nonfiction” account of Jill’s early life as an adopted child. Way back in 1983, while she was a freshman in college, Jill learned that her biological father had been stalking her for many years. She began writing the story of what happened on a college assignment in 1986. A Fort Lauderdale resident since 2015, Jill started her writing career as a newspaper/magazine journalist. Today, she produces and hosts an interactive podcast on YouTube and Facebook, called “The Beach Report with Jilly Cohen”. Jill’s first book is a retroactive look at how 9/11 changed American society, called “Like It Was Yesterday -- A Journalist’s Files Since 9/11.”
