GINA IN WONDERLAND by Graham Cann
This collection of images began with a chance meeting.
It started like any other day in March, except for the anticipation of attending a fairy-tale themed photo shoot at the Rook with another photographer.
And there she was, right in front of me dressed as The White Rabbit.
I had no idea of the consequence of this first meeting or the journey that we were about to embark upon, but like Alice I was destined to follow the rabbit down the hole, falling into a magical world that is Wonderland.
Five months passed before I was to meet Gina again, but over the following twelve months we would work together seventeen times, producing fifteen editorials, over sixty pages of editorial work, inclusive of 4 front covers and published worldwide!
During this time, we also collaborated with the renowned fashion designer Jacques Azagury, resulting in another front cover and a further 20 pages of published work. Some of the images from this shoot were used by Jacques and displayed larger than life in the front windows at his Knightsbridge Atelier for several months.
There is always a fun but intense energy when working with Gina, resulting in the conceptually creative photography of which you can see a small selection displayed within this show.
These images are a testament to the trust and energy we created and stand among my best work to date. It’s a rare thing to find such a connection but when you do, the work will always be rich and rewarding.
I am grateful for all involved in this journey, but most of all for the trust, friendship and creative enigma that is Gina.
