Eclectic pop group Gin Blossoms makes a tour stop at Osage Casino Hotel Tulsa’s Skyline Event Center on September 26.Formed in Arizona, Gin Blossoms developed their indelible jangle-pop sound in the late 1980s. They first gained national attention with their performance at 1989’s SXSW in Austin, which led to an invitation to play at MTV’s New Music Awards in New York City. Their breakout album New Miserable Experience began their rise to fame, and featured the singles “Hey Jealousy,” “Allison Road,” Until I Fall Away,” “Mrs. Rita,” and “Found Out About You.”
The band’s fusion of pop, melodic rock, folk and country elements made them a staple of radio playlists throughout the ‘90s. Their single “Til I Hear It From You” shot to the top of the charts, and “As Long As It Matters,” from their third album Congratulations I’m Sorry, earned the band a Grammy nomination for “Best Performance by a Duo or Group.” From their breakout album through today, the band has sold more than 10 million records.
