Have you bought a gimbal or know that you should get one, but not sure where to start? If you shoot video a gimbal is a must have in your arsenal and can be used in almost every type of project, whether you are a professional or a hobbyist. Even better, they are just plain old fun. In this course we’ll dive into everything you need to know for using gimbals with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. We’ll start with a functional overview of gimbals and then learn how to balance them before use. Then we’ll take a look at how the pros use gimbals; considering why, how and when they are applied. Finally, we’ll get some practice setting up and shooting with gimbals in class. The goal will be that you walk out able to comfortably set-up and operate a gimbal for your own project.
Required Equipment
Please bring your own gimbal to the class so that you’ll be able to participate in hands-on instruction. If you don’t have one, you’ll be able to purchase a gimbal in-store before class. Additionally please bring your own DSLR or Mirrorless camera that is capable of shooting video.
Audience
This course is geared toward people who have a base knowledge of shooting video, such as lens length and aperture.
About the Instructor
Jack has worked professionally as a Cinematographer, Videographer and Camera Operator for the past four years. Much of his experience is international, particularly in South Korea with a focus on broadcast television and documentary work. Some of his notable clients include the likes of HBO, Volvo, and Vice.
