Guided by Nature – Inspired by the forests, water, and quiet spaces of Northern Ontario, this interpretive textile workshop invites you to slow down and create with intention. Whether you are new to sewing or have years of experience, you will be encouraged to work intuitively with fabric, texture, and layered materials. This is a space to explore, respond, and let the work unfold. Sewing machines and all materials are provided, and no prior sewing experience is required. By the end of the session, you will leave with a finished textile artwork, stretched and ready to frame. IF you have your own sewing machine, you need to buy a “free motion embroidery foot” from Janome on the Kingsway (costs about $25-30) - please tell them you are taking an art class with Gillian, and they will assist you in getting the right item.
Gillian Schultz - Artist and Creative Facilitator - Gillian is a Sudbury-based artist working primarily in textile and mixed media, blending stitching, drawing and painting to explore creativity and expression.
