Our classes and workshops are the perfect “unique” alternative to a material gift or “stuff” for any occasion! Join us as we explore the craft of creating children’s toys from a selection of mixed woods. In this class you will utilize the bandsaw to cut wood pieces to the proper sizes and sand them to a smooth finish for assembly. We will also use the drill press briefly to create the axle holes in the base to mount the wheels and to cut out the wheel wells. With some glue and lots of sanding we will create a sturdy toy pickup truck that children will enjoy for years to come. Let’s get started! This is a comprehensive 7 hour class with a 30 minute lunch break. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
