During a fraught parent/teacher conference, a grieving mother asks her son's emotionally-overwhelmed teacher one simple question: Why?
About this Event

GIDION'S KNOT is a powerful, tense exploration of grief, guilt, and the complexities of communication. It's human nature to want to know why, especially when tragedy strikes unexpectedly. But what do we do when there isn't an answer to "why?", or there is an answer but we don't like it?

Over the course of a parent/teacher conference, a grieving mother and an emotionally overwhelmed 5th grade teacher have a fraught conversation about the tragic suicide of the mother's son, Gidion. Gidion may have been bullied severely—or he may have been an abuser. As his story is slowly uncovered, the women try to reconstruct a satisfying explanation for Gidion's act and come to terms with excruciating feelings of culpability.
