Giclee Print Technician Certification (2 Days)

Learn best practices for prepping and creating fine-art-quality giclee images on large format Epson SureColor printers (44" and 24"). Each participant will leave with at least 2 large archival quality prints of their own work.

This 2-day class offers great value-added skill for professional illustrators, photographers, and other artists in workplaces that have in-house printing, or who want to manage their own equipment and print their own editions. This class is also perfect for those desiring to work in a commercial giclee printing environment.

Upon successful completion of this intensive hands-on class, each participant will be certified by Create Appalachia as a Giclee Printing Technician. Each will also receive a Digital Badge validated by CertifyMe.

This certification is required for all Create Appalachia technicians and trainers.

Instructor Bio: Recently retired after 22 years as Associate Professor of Digital Media at East Tennessee State University, Cher Cornett has worked profesionally as a graphic designer, photographer, and illustrator since 1980. She was a beta tester for the first version of Adobe Photoshop and has taught digital photo editing for more than 30 years. She trained with Cone Editions' experts on fine art printing techniques using Epson ink jet printers and creates and exhibits digital fine art and photography. Cher is also a senior fellow for the International Digital Media Arts Association and a judge for the American Advertising Federation's ADDY award competitions.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Saturday lunch is on your own. There are a number of restaurants close by. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, we have a microwave and a fridge that you can use. We will supply coffee and a light breakfast in the morning. There is free parking all around our building and in the Shelby Street Garage just across the street. Please use our member entrance when you arrive--it's marked with signs and is right across from the Shelby Street garage.
