About this Event
Towering, ancient, and awe-inspiring, redwood forests are more than natural wonders—they are living models of climate resilience, biodiversity, and long-term stewardship. Join us for an engaging evening with Sam Hodder, former President and CEO of Save the Redwoods League, for a wide-ranging conversation on why redwoods matter now more than ever.
Drawing on more than three decades of leadership in land conservation, Sam will explore what makes redwoods so extraordinary—from their remarkable biology and longevity to their outsized role in addressing the climate crisis and wild fire resilience.
Sam Hodder brings rare perspective to this conversation. Over a 33-year career in nonprofit land conservation, including nearly 12 years leading Save the Redwoods League where he helped permanently protect more than 25,000 acres of redwood forest, launched California’s most ambitious redwood restoration effort, and advanced groundbreaking research on redwoods and climate change.
