The Marion Giants will celebrate special anniversaries of three of their eight state championship teams during home basketball games this season at MHS's Bill Green Athletic Arena. On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Marion Giants boys basketball state championship.
Prior to the game, there will be a meet and greet with former players and coaches from the 1975 team from 5 to 7 p.m. in the MHS cafeteria.
Coach Bill Green’s children, Kevin, Mike, Larry, and Ellen, will be making a special presentation to MHS that day too. Coach Green who won six state championships, five at Marion High School passed away in 2011.
The team members will also be introduced at halftime of the varsity game. The Giants will play Homestead that night. General admission for the game is $7.
The Marion Giants have a great history of boys basketball in the State of Indiana. The Giants have won eight State Championships and no other school has won more! Come out and join us we celebrate!
