Ghostly Hounds, A.N., Spencer Jo LIVE at Congress Coffee📅 September 16th | 📍 Congress Coffee, Calgary,AB
Join us for a night of captivating music featuring Ghostly Hounds, the soulful folk-noir project led by Francesca Mirai — a singer-songwriter and banjo player based in the Lekwungen Territory (colonially known as Victoria, BC). With a voice that soars and grips, Francesca blends traditional and modern banjo sounds with a haunting and powerful vocal style.
Since forming in 2015 in Tiohtià :ke/Montréal, Ghostly Hounds has toured extensively across Canada, the UK, and Ireland, including a highlight performance at England’s Red Rooster Festival in 2025. Whether performing solo or as a full five-piece band, their shows are intimate, enchanting experiences.
Calgary-based pop-rocker A.N. challenges the status quo as rock’s black sheep with her album "I'm Not Afraid to Die Anymore (INATDA, Nov. 2024)." Belting out long-overdue statements while reclaiming her power, her songs have made the airwaves locally and across Canada on stations including CBC, CKUA, X92.9, CJSR and more.
She completed her first 9-date regional tour in the summer of 2025, including 3 festivals (East Town Get Down, Lie Low, and Sled Island). She brought her play INATDA, the Pop-Rock Musical (based on her album) to Calgary Fringe 2025, completing a 3-show run. Come watch her play a solo acoustic set of originals!
Spencer Jo from Calgary, Alberta. With punk roots and a gift for folk storytelling, Spencer crafts razor-sharp social commentary stripped of pretense. Their surreal edge and instrumental skill cut through to reveal uncomfortable truths with bare-bones arrangements that hit hard and stay with you.
Don’t miss this powerful night of music and storytelling!
