The Victorians considered Christmas the perfect time for telling ghost stories. The Christmas period was the time when the barrier between the world of the living and the dead was at its thinnest. Bring the tradition back in York, one of the most haunted cities in the world, as a group of writers thrill us with their spookiest stories!
Your £5 ticket goes towards a mulled wine from the bar when you arrive.
There are reading slots available for writers. If you would like to read, your ghost story should be written completely by yourself. It can be Christmas/winter themed if you like, but doesn't have to be! You will have a time slot of roughly 10 minutes maximum, so make sure you can read your story in that time - it will depend on how fast you read, but that's roughly a maximum word count of 2,000 words.*
