Ghost Mutt and Golden Age of Ballooning are set to descend on the Black Bear Lodge stage for their double album launch, supported by emerging heart-string puller neish. Expect harmonies, spacey guitars, distortion and introspection for a night of familiar and emerging Meanjin noise.GHOST MUTT
Crooning, wailing and occasionally inward screaming, Ghost Mutt hurl their special brand of moody pop-rock into the universe. The Meanjin/Brisbane band counter the roar of existence with earnest bilingual lyricism and good humour - layering harmonies, synths and spacey guitars alongside crunchy distortion and pop hooks. They return to Black Bear Lodge to launch their sophomore album, Años Migraños.
GOLDEN AGE OF BALLOONING
Golden Age of Ballooning are a movable feast – a sprawling, psychedelic group crossing and
blending a variety of genres. Since forming in 2012 they have won awards, received national airplay, released 3 EPs and 11 singles of their own brand of classic, folk, hard and psych rock.
Emerging on the Brisbane scene as a side project to Blonde on Blonde and an excuse to play Neil Young covers, Golden Age of Ballooning quickly became known for their powerful harmonies and crowded stages.
NEISH
neish is an emerging singer/songwriter from Meanjin (Brisbane) Australia. After feeling as though she didn't have a voice, neish found solace in music and re-discovered her sound through songwriting. Influenced by folk infused alternative artists such as Daughter and Novo Amor, neish aims to captivate through her raw and vulnerable lyricism, and to develop a deeper connection of emotional intimacy with her listeners. neish writes with a purpose that encapsulates personal and relatable experiences in a way that is sadly beautiful and authentic.
