This Manor House is steeped in history dating back as fast as 1335 when the first documents naming the Hall appeared. Many ghost.ly reports have been made from unsuspecting visitors to the Manor.
The Great Hall
In the Great Hall a distressed female has been seen in 15th century dress alongside a gentleman that is said to be of strong stature.
George Marsh and the Green Room
George March was burned at the stake on April 24th in 1555, his apparition is believed to have been witnessed in the Green Room by a gentleman whilst visiting the Hall with his family.
The Chapel
The Chapel has been a hive for sightings of people in period dress kneeling and praying. This spirit is thought to be a lady that frequented the church in the past. In the chapel, there has also been an incident where a member of staff was clearing away flowers, all of a sudden, she was pushed from behind and fell with force so much so that she grazed her knees.
A man dressed in black has also been spotted through a mirror that used to hang in the Puigins shop. The man had white bushy hair and appeared to be staring at the shop manager. After looking around the shop manager realised that this person was not in the building or in the vicinity and therefore could not explain what he saw. The same gentleman in has been spotted walking the grounds of the Hall but who could he be?
In the past glasses have been turned around or turned upside down and perhaps is a more mischievous spirit that likes to play tricks on unsuspecting victims.
Ropes that act as barriers around the museum are said to swing of their own accord and children and cats are often heard playing around the building.
The ground of the building also has history of strange happenings, the sound of horse’s hooves passing the house are regularly heard at nighttime as are footsteps walking through the gravel, only to find that there is no one around to be seen.
