About this Event
Mark those calendars, because we’re hosting a very special charity chili cookoff on Sunday, December 8… in memory of some very special people who are no longer with us 😇
This cookoff was inspired by an event that was originally held on December 6, 2014… started by GHBC Founder, Steve Bauer along with his friend Noel Korman, back when this brewery was just a pipe dream. On the day of the event, Noel never showed up. Later that day, we received the extremely tragic news that he and his girlfriend Alice Park had been killed by a carbon monoxide leak in their studio space the night before.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably recall the “High Fives & Positive Vibes” charity can releases we’ve done over the last few years. That chili cookoff in 2014 was the back story and the inspiration for those releases… and a huge catalyst in opening Ghost Hawk.

Since we must adhere to NJ brewery restrictions on serving food, this will be a PRIVATE TICKETED EVENT (free admission for children under 12)… proceeds from the event will be donated to Saint Peter's Haven in Clifton, NJ who do some really excellent volunteer work in our local underprivileged and homeless communities.
Each paid entry will receive three tickets. Each chili will have a cup in front. Use your tickets to vote for your favorite chilis. At the end, we count the tickets to determine the people’s winners. 🎟️🎟️🎟️
Additionally, we will also have a small panel of local chefs stopping by to weigh on a professional level. 👨🍳👩🍳
This will be a STACKED afternoon with live acoustic sets from the Dirty Stayouts… vinyl sets from DJ Jen Jones, Rob Nice and some other special guests. Beyond that, we will have tons of cool raffles and a 50/50.
Hope to see you in December to celebrate the lives of some great folks and raise some money for an excellent charity!
