Friday Events and Happenings
10:00 am to 12:00pm: Get an early start on discovering the official drive. We'll do a practice drive leaving the hotel around 10:00 am. Not overly organized, just a nice leisurely practice drive to check out the route and make sure the roads are still there.
5:30 to 7:00pm: The meet and greet, adult beverage, and bourbon tasting. A great opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet lots of new friends. Once again we'll take over the lobby, rearrange the furniture and settle in for a relaxed evening of tall-tales, adventures and good times.
Saturday Events – THE BIG DAY
8:30 am: The drivers meeting in front of the hotel. Drivers are required, passengers can sleep in.
9:00 am: The Gettysburg Battlefield Drive. The drive starts on the battlefield and finishes in one of the more interesting sections of Eastern Pennsylvania. There's something for everyone, the serenity of the battlefield, beautiful mountain views and a lot of interesting curves to keep driver and passenger happy and entertained.
11:30 am-1:30 pm: - Lunch at Dunlap’s: A Gettysburg landmark. Nothing fancy, just good food and conversation.
6:30 pm: - The Banquet. It's back to Carriage House Inn for dinner and an evening of good friends, food and conversation. You pick what you like, you pay for what you pick. No formal banquet (social distancing, hand washing, masks keep this from happening)
Sunday:
Some people will be headed for home but others will get to tour the battlefield with Denny (looter) and Sharon (Weezy) who know as much about the Civil War as any historian. You'll get a personalized battlefield tour and learn history while having an amazing time. After the battlefield tour, we'll head for Chubby's in Frederick, MD for BBQ. Great BBQ, great friends, great car. Feel free to stay over Sunday night and explore more of this beautiful and haunting town. You can spend time on the battlefield and learn more about one of the most historic sites in American history.
