The Gettysburg Choral Society, Inc. is actively seeking singers, including paid section leaders, for the 2025 spring season. Auditions are being held by appointment only on Monday, January 13th (6:00-8:00 P.M.) and Saturday, January 25th (2:00-4:00 P.M.). The chorus seeks to utilize the finest choral techniques in an effort to continually improve the quality of performances. As such, persons who read music and have choral experience are encouraged to audition. Vocal accuracy, tone quality, blending ability, diction, and vocal range will be tested during the audition. Good sight reading is a definite plus. All persons auditioning must be at least 18 years of age and bring a prepared piece to sing.
In addition to volunteer singers, the Chorus is seeking highly motivated and extremely talented, trained singers to serve as section leaders. The positions require singers to be prompt in attendance and fully prepared at all rehearsals and concerts.
There will be a stipend paid to the section leader upon the successful completion of the semester’s work.
Rehearsals, which are every Monday from 7-9pm, begin on March 3rd, 2025 and continue each week through May 19th. Concerts are scheduled for May 23rd and 25th. There is also a small performance commitment on the evening of Memorial Day (May 26th).
