Join us for an engaging workshop that explores the dynamic blend of 3D software, digital fabrication, and sculpting techniques.
Led by Eunice Choi, a noted artist and designer whose works have been displayed internationally, this session will focus on modern mold-making and casting processes with a special focus on moving work into 3D designs.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to the tools and materials involved in both digital and traditional sculpting, followed by insights into Eunice’s artistic practices. Participants will then engage with 3D software tailored for sculptors, learn to navigate these tools effectively, and proceed to hands-on activities, including 3D scanning and custom moldmaking.
After a brief interlude, the workshop will delve into casting techniques, guiding attendees through creating molds and duplicates, and conclude with showcasing the final sculpted products. This workshop is designed to enhance your technical skills and inspire you to translate your artwork into the digital realm and back again.

Eunice Choi is an artist and designer who works with sculpture and installation.
Choi observes mundane experiences, thoughts, emotions, and self-reflective questions and creates a space that could revisit those.  In her practice, she uses objects and metaphors to understand the emotions in between and unresolved questions that cannot be defined with one word.
Often, she uses soft or malleable materials (wood, silicone, resin, metal, foam, clay) that could express the physical responses to emotions through the material’s traits, such as density, opacity, weight, temperature, texture, flexibility, etc. Digital fabrication and mold making/casting are frequently used in her process, as they allow the reshaping of the materials while preserving their characteristics.
Choi’s work has been shown in the United States, South Korea, and Italy, including Salone del Mobile Milano, New York Design Week, and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from UCLA Design Media Arts.
She is currently based in Los Angeles and enjoying the warm weather.
