About this Event
In this practical workshop, using facilitated discussion, case studies and exercises, Volunteer Coordinators will:
- Consider the most relevant, important DEI goals for their volunteer programmes
- Be creatively inspired by a range of ways that Volunteer Coordinators have approached diversity, equity and inclusion in their roles
- Set intentions on where to start with DEI work in their own volunteer programmes
- Feel prepared for the opportunities and challenges that may come with starting DEI work
In the second informal session, which will be online on Thursday 4th July at 10 - 11am and is only open to those who have taken part in session 1, Volunteer Coordinators can:
- Share their plans, achievements and efforts to make volunteering more diverse, equitable and inclusive in their organisations
- Crowdsource solutions to the challenges they are facing in their DEI work
- Renew their focus and momentum to work on DEI
At the end of these sessions, attendees should:
- Have increased their knowledge in thinking about how to start DEI work in their volunteer programmes
- Have started to consider/started to set DEI goals for their volunteer programme
- Have more ideas about different ways to approach DEI in their work
- Feel more confident about possible opportunities and challenges that may come with starting DEI work
