Over the course of the week you'll get to learn more about the importance of agriculture, and the careers that are available to you in garden management such as growing crops, on site crafting, sustainability training and landscape design. Combining group discussions and practical workshops from the experts, you'll leave with a wealth of skills and a new-found confidence

Get Started in Urban farming – A project from the Prince’s Trust, based in Fallowfield’s famous Platt Fields Park Marketgarden, offering you 5 days of outdoor activities and workshops by local urban horticulturalists.

This brand new programme is offered to you COMPLETLY FREE OF CHARGE here you’ll get to explore all the roles that are available in Garden management - from growing crops, on site crafting, sustainability training, to Landscape design and everything in between!

This experience is packed full of exciting learning to help you develop your practical skills while forming new relationships and building confidence.

Over the week you will take part in:

  • Crafting & building – Creating spaces out of willow branches and left-over materials.
  • Bio-Diversity – How we can improve the area by encouraging new growth of plant life and undertake some ‘Urban-greening’; create a more sustainable and self-sufficient way of living.

  • Outdoor sourcing and cooking – Selecting and eating fresh produce grown on site, using the onsite grill and BBQ smoker for a unique cooking experience.
  • Delivered by a range of professionals within Urban Horticulture and Environmental activism, here we will further your skills and understanding of gardening, landscaping and sustainability.

Not just that, MUD site offers a range of other offers: Mushroom farming, Fire kiln ceramics – with throw down pottery wheel, along with beekeeping!
