In this interactive talk, Dr. Sharla Berry shares her research about Black women and the growing anti-work movement. Drawing on archival data, she explores the ways in which Black women are resisting grind culture, and explores what it could look like to collectively build a post-work world. Join us for a healing and imaginative discussion. Sharla will also be selling her three-part zine series, The Black Women’s Anti-Work Workbook.
About Dr. Sharla Berry:
Dr. Sharla Berry is a professor and educational researcher with an extensive background in online teaching, learning, and evaluation. She received a PhD in Urban Education Policy from the University of Southern California. Her research has been featured in many academic journals including Online Learning, the Journal of Computing in Higher Education, and the International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning, and at academic conferences including the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE). Dr. Berry is also an evaluator, and has been a fellow with the American Evaluation Association (AEA).
