Perspective drawing - the ability to be aware of what is small yet large and large yet small - can be one of the most challenging techniques for both experienced and beginner artists. This four week program with professional artist Robert Connell will delve into the deconstruction of objects and spatial awareness from a drawing perspective. Over the four weeks Rob will help you transform your drawing skills and create a final piece of art that showcases the multiple techniques learnt all whilst having fun in a relaxed environment.
Rob will spend time with each student as they learn to ground their own work within the picture plane, experiment with light and shadows and replicate how we see things without our brain playing tricks on us! The first 3 sessions will focus on drawing techniques with objects brought from home (please bring a few different objects that you find interesting!) and the final session will be an accumulation of these skills into your final piece.
17th Oct - 2nd class - “Why is the shadow bigger”
Working with last week's sketches (or you can create some new ones!) Rob will teach you how to ground a work on the page with shadow and highlight. By understanding how a light source affects the work you will learn how to accentuate the softness and hardness of an object.

This is a great opportunity to put all your new skills to the test and dip your toe in the wonderful world of life drawing in a safe and supportive environment. This class is not mandatory but highly recommended.
