Last one for this series of free events!
Have you #gottogetout and explore Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland?
Thanks to Auckland Transport, Got To Get Out is hosting a series of free outdoor events to encourage our community to try walking & cycling for getting to work / school / leisure.
We’re also profiling new cycleways and commuter routes, and showcasing public transport options like bus and trains as a great way to get to your adventures.
Are you ready for this ride?
For our bike ride events, these are aimed at people newer to riding in the area, and riding at a 'silver' level.

If you have not ridden a bike for a long time or lack confidence we would recommend attending one of Auckland Transport's Bike skills courses or at least reviewing the silver standard to check you are ‘ready’ for a group road ride at https://at.govt.nz/cycling-walking/courses-events/adult-bike-skills/

If you are unsure if you are competent enough to attend, please contact [email protected]
About your guided adventure
We are going to ride the whole way around the city! Starting in Westhaven Marina (under the Harbour Bridge) we will ride through the Viaduct, through central Auckland, to Upper Queen st, along K Rd, along the pink ‘Light Path’, down Nelson st and back to the start line. At the end, we will stop for coffee and korero in Westhaven.
Check out the route here: https://at.govt.nz/media/1977770/cycle-network-map-c1-central-auckland.pdf
Expect great korero / chats with other outdoor lovers, a chance to make new friends, and get some fitness!
Bikes are available for rent, if needed.
To get there:
Use the AT Journey Planner (https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/journey-planner/) or AT Mobile app to plan your journey,Meet outside AJ Hackett Bungy (under the Auckland Harbour Bridge)
Please bring:
Your own bike (expect a quick bike safety check over from your trip host)
Comfortable enclosed footwear
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, skin protection)
Raincoat / something warm in a backpack
Any personal medication (like asthma inhaler etc)
Food for you
All ages welcome (under 16 need to be ‘signed in’ by a parent or guardian) though please note the group moves at a ‘commuter’ speed, so this is not suited to beginner riders or children learning to ride.

If you don’t already use public transport, and want to try it out, then after the trip we will provide you with a free HOP card loaded with a whole day's worth of travel, to encourage you to try public transport!. You can learn more about cycling or walking to work at https://at.govt.nz/cycling-walking/
Health and safety:
You will be expected to ‘sign in’ at www.gottogetout.com/check-in before joining the ride.
