*This Class meets for three sessions.
Explore the basics of creating handmade chain including how to get comfortable soldering with a torch. Discover how a simple soldered loop and endless variations transform copper and silver into lovely links and unique chains. Learn about different gauges of metal, how to anneal (soften) metal, bend it and make uniform jump rings that will become the components of your chain. Topics include soldering, hammering, sanding and polishing our chains. Participants will leave with a new shiny treasure and a comprehensive set of jewelry skills to build on. Copper and brass sheet and wire in several thicknesses are provided with the course fee. Sterling silver is not provided but is available to purchase separately. Hand strength is required. No experience required.
$175 includes all necessary tools and materials.
Seats are limited to ensure a personalized experience.
Torches are used during the fabrication of this project.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair.
