Do you know a young person who might like to learn more about careers in construction and try some different trades?
The Construction Skills Hub at Truro and Penwith College is hosting a one-day workshop-- Get Construction Ready -- on Wednesday, the 10th of December, from 10am to 4pm.
This interactive day will take place at a local construction employer’s training facility in Pool, near the Tesco Extra.
There is no cost to attend, and it is aimed at those aged 16-21.
Topics covered will include:
- Careers in construction
- Opportunities for construction training in Cornwall (apprenticeships, colleges, employers)
- Current and future construction projects in Cornwall
- Current job opportunities and wages
- Site expectations and behaviour
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Participants will also have the opportunity to try some construction trades during the day. We will provide safety boots for the session, so we will need shoe sizes when booking.
