Join illustrator and author Emma Reynolds in a fun bat-fact-filled Amara and the Bats story time and batty draw-along! Meet the life-size bat plushies, and learn all about these amazing misunderstood creatures, while being introduced to the power of peaceful protest and community action!
Emma Reynolds is a children's author and illustrator from Manchester. Her picture book Amara and the Bats, all about bat conservation, peaceful protest, activism and hope, was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard, National Science Teacher Association 'Best in STEM' and an Empathy Lab 2022 selection.
In 2019 she founded #KidLit4Climate, the first global illustrated climate campaign, in solidarity with the youth climate strikers. In September, their graphic novel, Drawn to Change the World, featuring biographies of 16 youth climate activists and illustrated by 16 acclaimed artists from around the world, was published. Emma runs interactive accessible story time and drawing workshops for children and families.
