Join us for light drinks and refreshments in the Waverley Library Galleries with Marie Widolf and her iconic illustration Gertrude - the Gal who couldn't cook!
Gertrude: Best known as the quirky gal who cannot cook, Marie Widolf’s cartoon-character, Gertrude, returns to Waverley Library with her special brand of mayhem. In this series of illustrations, it is Gertrudes’ own kitchen getting her into trouble at the chopping-block!
Gertrude’s kitchen appliances and cooking ingredients come alive, her veggies are dancing the Swedish Kitchen Polka and refuse to be boiled in her casseroles!
What will Gertrude do to control the unrest in her pantry? Will she ever cook her dinner and eat it?
