Georgia Rose is an up and coming 19 year old singer-songwriter living in the Peterborough area (Lakefield/Douro-Dummer). She is self taught, and burst onto the local music scene with her first public performance in late 2023. In April of 2024 she placed in the top 3 at Peterborough’s Got Talent (earning herself a spot performing at Peterborough’s Ribfest that July), and in September of 2024 was awarded 1st place in the Kawartha Lakes Alliance of Singer/Songwriters Contest for her song “Where Did We Go?”. A music video (filmed by the talented artist, Artemis Chartier) was the first prize gift. With audio production of the single complete (producer Michael Phillips) this event is now also a Release Party for Georgia Rose’s sophomore single!
In the nearly 2 years since Rose first took the stage, she has gained a lot of experience and confidence – with mentorship from a few seasoned musicians. She has performed at a wide variety of venues, fundraisers and events in Peterborough and surrounding areas. Georgia Rose performed at Showplace last spring as part of Peterborough Performs V – Musicians to End Homelessness, and is back on the bill for the 2025 event. She had the honour of opening up for Nicholas Campbell and the Metre Cheaters last April at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa, and was accompanied by the renowned Melissa Payne on Fiddle.
This past summer Georgia Rose provided regular entertainment at a popular restaurant in Parry Sound, ‘The Summer Shindig’ at Two Blokes Cider festival in Seagrave, Market Hall in Peterborough (with special guest Mikey Campbell from Australia), Peterborough Ribfest and Creekside Festival in Apsley. Most recently she provided the live entertainment for ‘A Night in White Garden Party’ (Johnston’s Greenhouse - Peterborough) to raise funds for the Y Kids Strong campaign. Georgia Rose is getting amazingly positive reception, and is building a great fan base. Her debut single “Summer Weather” (available on all streaming platforms) was released last Valentine’s Day. Although Georgia Rose’s main genre is Indie/Pop, she plays a wide variety of popular cover songs along with her original material. Something for everyone! Rose is a passionate artist and talented songwriter who has won well-deserved recognition from her fans, fellow musicians and the media. Whether it be a solo performance or with a band, Georgia Rose delights in connecting with others through her music.
