About this Event
Considered the “Mother of American Modernism” for her paintings of flowers, bones, and nature that blurred the lines of abstraction and realism, Georgia O’Keefe is one of America’s most important 20th century artists. This new film by Paul Wagner traces her life from the Mid-west to the NYC art scene of the 1920s - where O’Keefe met lover/husband/photographer Alfred Stieglitz, and scandalously posed nude for him - to her last years in the desert of New Mexico, when she emerged as an iconic model for American women. O’Keefe’s voice by actress Claire Danes, narration by Hugh Dancy. With director Wagner and producer Ellen Wagner.
