Ladies - Are you wanting to section hike the Appalachian Trail but don’t know where to start or looking for some like minded women to hit the trail with? This 4 day/3 night beginning backpacking trip is perfect for you! People travel from all over the world to hike the Appalachian Trail. Some attempt thru hikes, where others spend years doing the trail in sections. Breaking the 2,000+ mile into sections allows you to tackle the milage at a slower pace, hike during warmer weather and the flexibility to hit the trail.
WILD will be hitting the trail for a section hike of the Appalachian Trail - and what better place to start then the southern terminus of the AT, atop Springer Mountain. During this first section hike we will climb mountains, hike through green tunnels, and sleep at the same shelters and campsites where many hikers before us have. This trip will give you the experience of a section hike, and also knocking the first 30.7 miles of the Appalachian Trail!
On the first day of our trip we will head to the top of Springer Mountain - hiking the 0.9 miles to the top of Springer, snapping a mountain top picture and heading out on our first day on the trail. After Springer we will hike 7.8 miles to Hawk Mountain Shelter - our home for the first night.
Day 2 we will wake up, pack up and hit the trail, enjoying our day hiking up, down and through the green tunnel ending our day after about 9 miles on the trail. Day 3 we will continue on our journey, passing over Woody Gap and starting our climb up Blood Mountain. On our final day on the trail hike up and over the highest point on the AT in GA - Blood Mountain and drop down to the infamous Neels Gap to end our 4 day adventure.
On our third and final day on trail we will sadly pack up and hike the 5 miles to Neels Gap, and our ending point for this very first section of the Appalachian Trail.
Trip costs $435 per person and includes:
Round trip transportation from Columbus GA
Fully Guided trip with experienced Guide that has Wilderness First Responder and CPR.
Basic Backpacking gear such as backpack, tent, sleeping pad, stove and water filtration.
Custom pack fitting and complete gear shakedown prior to trip.

** Please note that all meetings and classes are held both in person and via zoom for our ladies that do not reside in Columbus!
Spots are limited and trip will run rain or shine. Ladies only ages 10 and up please. Minor must be accompanied by a female parent/guardian. No backpacking experience is necessary, but you must be physically capable of hiking 10 miles a day over varied terrain with a 30+ pound backpack.
REFUND POLICY: In the event you need to cancel your spot you can receive a 80% refund 31 days prior to the trip. If you cancel within 30 days of the trip you will not receive a refund, and your ticket can not be applied to a future trip.
