This year marks the 20th anniversary of this fishing derby, which commemorates the memory of George Modock Jr., an avid fisherman and family man who enjoyed sharing this hobby with his children. His family keeps his legacy alive by hosting this event with the City as a way to bring North Royalton families together to create lasting memories. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Kids will fish from 10 a.m. to noon, competing in three age groups -- 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15. Trophies are provided by the City's Parks and Rec Department. There will be hotdogs, popcorn and cookies after the derby at noon.
