If you caught their awesome performance last year then you will be just as excited as we are to have George and Noriko back on the Tin Shed! Known as the Japanese Blues Cowboy and the Shamisen player, they have been kicking up a storm wherever they play. George’s lightning fast blues licks and growling harmonica enhanced by Noriko’s percussive sounds of the traditional shamisen (Japanese banjo) has morphed into a kind of bluegrass hard country blues with a Japanese twist.
George honed his skills the hard way, by busking and playing smaller venues since moving to Australia in 2001. Noriko has been playing shamisen since she was six, but her ability to cross styles has meant she’s played with a very long list of blues, jazz and rock artists. The duo has won numerous awards and critical acclaim performing internationally as well as major festivals around the country. On top of all this, they were also surprise finalists on Australia’s Got Talent!!! Can you recall their awesomeness on TV!!??!
The floating Tin shed moves between the ferry and the foreshore, (depending on wind) so grab a picnic and head down, You dont want to miss this one!
