U3AWarrnambool and Deakin University are delighted to host two presentations on Geology of Victoria and Beyond by Ross Cayley, Senior Geologist, Geological Survey of Victoria.Ross is part of a scientific team that has been studying the Palaeozoic-aged geology of Victoria and SE Australia for the last 30 years.
During this time technology advance has delivered an explosion of exciting new tools resulting in geological narratives that were unimaginable just a few decades ago.
Originally from Hamilton, Ross is noted for his entertaining talks which present complex information in ways easily understood by the non-expert.

When: Tuesday 18th October, 10:30 am until approx 2:30 pm
Where: Lecture Theatre J2.01, Warrnambool Deakin Campus
Program:
10:45am - 12:00pm: First presentation “Showcasing 700 million years of western Victorian geology”
12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch (lunch in style at the “Brother Fox” café or picnic in the campus’s stunning native garden)
1:15pm – 2:15pm: Second presentation “How geologists develop and test amazing and ancient geological stories – Victoria as an example”
Second presentation is followed by a guided tour of the Campus Garden (U3A members only)
