Peter Goldsworthy's numerous literary awards include the Commonwealth Poetry Prize, the Australian Bicentennial Prize for Poetry (shared with Phillip Hodgins), and the Helpmann Award for Best New Work for his libretto for the opera Batavia, (shared with the composer Richard Mills). His poems have been widely published in the English-speaking world, from journals such as Poetry magazine and The London Review of Books to anthologies ranging from The Twentieth Century in Poetry to Roger McGough's recently edited Happy Poems. His New Selected Poems was published in Australia and the UK in 2001. His poems can be read and heard online at The Poetry Archive, and read online at the Poetry Foundation. His most recent book is The Cancer Finishing School (Penguin Viking, 2024).
Sarah Rice is interested in the intersection between poetry, philosophy, music, and art. Her poetry collection Fingertip of the Tongue (UWAP) won the Eyelands International Book Awards, and her Text/ure project and book (art, music, poetry) received a Canberra Critics Circle Award, and was Highly Commended in the ACT Notable Book Awards. Sarah won the Ron Pretty and Bruce Dawe poetry prizes, and co-won the Writing Ventures, and Gwen Harwood poetry prizes. She was awarded second place in the Val Vallis Awards, and has been shortlisted in numerous prizes, including the Montreal, Bridport, Newcastle, Fish, Aesthetica, Overland, amongst others. Her work is widely published nationally and internationally. Sarah taught art theory at the ANU School of Art, and enjoys ekphrastic collaborations across art and writing. She regularly runs workshops in conjunction with art institutions such as the National Gallery of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, Canberra Glassworks, CMAG, and Craft ACT.
