*EARLY SHOW 7pm - 10pm*Tāmaki Makaurau indie-pop delight Geoff Ong returns to Cassette Nine on Saturday October 5 with his full band to celebrate the release of his upcoming climate-conscious single, ‘Where Will We Go When The Ocean Comes?’ Hot off standout performances at Cross St Music Festival (AKL) and Newtown Festival (WLG), this is a gig not to be missed!
Geoff’s gifts for songwriting and imaginative pop-production have garnered attention from across Aotearoa. His debut album MAYBE IT’LL BE ALRIGHT saw five songs reach the Top 5 of the NZ Official Hot Singles Chart, and he’s seen consistent support from the likes of RNZ, The Edge, ZM, bFM, and more.
Now, Geoff is sharing his brand new track complete with pulsing synths, cinematic instrumentation, and layers of stunning vocals that pose the urgent question ‘Where Will We Go When The Ocean Comes?’
Joining the lineup is Valere - the musical project of Shana Graham (she/her), an award winning songwriter based in Ōtautahi (Christchurch).
2024 marks the release of Valere’s new EP Gold Dust, a soft yet assured listening experience informed by the early years of marriage and motherhood, as well as the deaths of family members. The EP saw Valere featured on RNZ Afternoons and in Rolling Stone AUS/NZ, NZ Musician and Undertheradar.co.nz.
