Geoff Achison first arrived on the Melbourne music scene playing incendiary lead guitar with Aussie blues legend Dutch Tilders. He went on to form his own band, 'The Souldiggers’ which celebrated its 30 years anniversary in 2024 years. Geoff is also lead guitarist for 70’s hitmakers STARS, but whilst known as a formidable axeman on electric guitar, he is at his most personable and memorable playing extraordinary Solo Acoustic shows with his beloved Gibson EC-30 guitar. Geoff has an impressive history outside of Australia too. He won the ‘Albert King Award’ at the Memphis Blues Challenge 1995, became a Gibson Guitars USA endorsee in 1997 and made the Top Ten 'Hottest New Guitarists’ list in Guitar Player Magazine 2008. He was a Guitar Instructor at Jorma Kaukonen's (Hot Tuna, Jefferson Airplane) Fur Peace Guitar Ranch for 18 years, and and his frequent tours of the US have seen him playing with folks like The Allman Brothers, George Porter, Jr., The Wood Brothers, Hot Tuna, Col. Bruce Hampton, Randall Bramblett, Delbert McClinton, John Mayer and more. Geoff also employed top session musicians to form his ‘Souldiggers’ group to perform his original music across the USA, UK and Europe for many years.
