DANIELLE NOTARO – LIMN THE CHORD
Actor and writer Danielle Notaro has dedicated nearly her entire adult life to performing in the Lehigh Valley, with only five years spent elsewhere. Her talents have graced stages in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, and Vermont. In 2017, she embarked on a unique project, collaborating with Gus Stauffer, Url Kvnkal, Dylan Anderko, and Joe Limbus to record poems from her book, “Limn the Mask.” This creative endeavor resulted in “Limn the Chord,” a trippy, psychedelic, and poignant electronic adventure.
Tonight marks the CD release event for “Limn the Chord,” where Danielle will be joined by Gus and Ernest. Gus Stauffer, known for his involvement in Chewbacca’s Sac and Artek, boasts a performance history at notable venues like Woodstock Reunions, Muhlenberg College Red Door, and NY Hempfests. Ernest Knuckle, a seasoned musician with bands like Daytime Cleaners, Narrow Lover, USD, and Nocht The Only Ghoul, has graced stages at venues such as Kung Fu Necktie and Good Weekend.
In 2018, Danielle received the Outstanding Spoken Word award from the Lehigh Valley Music Awards.
Together, the trio formed GUD in 2019, performing at Bushkill Park and the Easton Book Festival. The pandemic disrupted their plans, delaying further appearances until 2022 when they played at College Hill’s Porch Fest.

BROTHER JT
John Terlesky, born in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1962, earned the nickname JT in sixth grade. His introduction to rock music came through his older brothers’ late-night listening sessions of The White Album. A pivotal moment occurred when he sang “House of the Rising Sun” during a rehearsal of his brother’s band in their grandmother’s kitchen circa 1970.
Growing up amidst the 1970s’ thick, brown haze, JT found fascination in the 1977 punk explosion, particularly for its departure from conventional themes of love. However, it was the candy-coated sound of Nuggets, discovered in his cousin’s collection, that truly captivated him. Under the guidance of his brother Nicholas, JT learned barre chords and basic keyboards, setting the stage for his musical journey.
In 1982, JT embarked on his musical career, starting as a bassist in Senseless Hate, covering Angry Samoans tracks. Transitioning to guitar with The Creatures in 1985, JT began writing and recording original songs, including the frenzied mash-up “Just 14.” This caught the attention of Bar/None Records, leading to the formation of The Original Sins in 1986.
With The Original Sins, JT released numerous albums of garage pop, touring extensively and sharing the stage with iconic acts like The Replacements, Ramones, and The Kinks. Despite critical acclaim and media attention, JT felt the music landscape shifting, prompting him to explore new sonic territories.
Drawing inspiration from diverse sources like “Metal Machine Music” and John Coltrane’s “Ascension,” JT embarked on a solo career, releasing albums characterized by lo-fi wanderings and experimental soundscapes. Collaborating with various musicians under the moniker Brother JT and Vibrolux, JT continued to evolve creatively, touring with bands like Bardo Pond and Royal Trux.
Over the years, JT has released albums on esteemed labels such as Drag City, Birdman, and Thrill Jockey, alongside self-released projects and ventures into mixed media artwork. His eclectic career has seen him perform alongside acclaimed acts like Oneida, Blonde Redhead, and Mudhoney, while also exploring multimedia platforms like his internet talk show, Trippin’ Balls.
Reflecting on his journey, JT acknowledges the support of labels, bandmates, and fans who have championed his music, despite the challenges of the industry. Grateful for the opportunity to navigate the indie rock scene, JT embraces the metaphorical voyage as a stowaway on a slow boat to China, cherishing the experiences and connections forged along the way.
