Indulge in an authentic south Indian concert known in India as a kacheri, as Aruna Sairam brings her vast repertoire of raga knowledge and spiritual lyrics to London.Aruna Sairam performs music by Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi (1700–1765), Dikshitar (1775–1835), Shastri (1762–1827) and Tyāgarāja (1767–1847) – in turn exuberant, intense, serene and dramatic. Saint Tyāgarāja showed that Nadopasana, or the practice of music, is the path towards moksha, or liberation. Aruna Sairam reflects this using her sublime voice to transport you into the sound of nature for a profoundly healing experience.
Sairam is accompanied by the brilliant Kumar and Udupa on percussion and Srikanth MBE, the sublime violinist and composer in her own right.
