About this Event
Mississippi State Department of Health, Genetics Bureau is hosting regional education and skills trainings for healthcare professionals, educators, social workers, birthing facilities, and community stakeholders, who serve in the genetic newborn screening process. We will have guest speakers from Revvity Omics and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who will present on the specific topics of Newborn screening and Sickle cell disease and trait counseling management. MSDH will provide on-site skills training for newborn screening, sickle cell disease and trait counseling, lead safety, early intervention, early hearing detection and intervention, and children and youth with special healthcare needs. By hosting this regional training, we aim to increase awareness, enhance healthcare capacity, and foster collaboration to improve patient and family centered care.
