Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as "Drunken Master".For our October session we're very happy to welcome the Vinyl Sisters crew to take over the decks. Vinyl Sisters is a crew of female DJs who select reggae music on vinyl. They run a monthly night upstairs at the Ritzy in Brixton, the Outerglobe Femxle DJ Relay, a safe place where women who may never have played or only play occasionally can express themselves and play their music collection.
We've hosted a few selectors from their crew individually in the past, but up until now have never got the full line-up of founding members up to the other end of the Victoria Line to play tunes for us. The core of Vinyl Sisters is Miss Feelgood, Kaya M, and Debbie Golt, who will all be present this evening. As well as actively promoting womxn selectors in the London reggae scene, all three are respected DJs in their own right, between them playing a great mix of ska, rocksteady, roots, dub and beyond, on original vinyl, spreading a positive message of peace, love, unity and respect!
Come and listen to some of the greatest music ever made in a beautiful old school club.
Tickets on the door only.
