The Geminids Meteor Shower is usually active between November 19th to December 24th every year. It tends to peak around December 13th to the 14th. Named after the constellation Gemini, the Geminids are usually the strongest meteor shower of the year! This is a paid program and costs ten dollars per person. Please sign up in advance at https://tnstateparks.com/parks/event_details/cummins-falls/#/?event=meteor-shower-campfire02We are planning the campfire so late because the best chance for seeing meteors will be after 10:00 pm. We will have the campfire from 8:00 pm until 10:30 pm. Anyone who wants to stay and star gaze can hang out for as long as they wish and hopefully see a lot of shooting stars! Bring lawn chairs or something to lay on while gazing up at the sky. Please dress accordingly for the weather that night. For the campfire we will have hot dogs & s'more fixin's. In the event of bad weather or other unforeseeable cancelation participants will receive an email or phone call.
