"Laziz: Lebanese for ''Tasty and Lighthearted''
It all started with garbanzo beans, a vision and 2 partners in life and business. After prevailing in their landmark case against the State of Utah (Kitchen v Herbert, 2013) which brought marriage equality to the 10th circuit and created the critical case law for the freedom to marry nationwide. Derek Kitchen and Moudi Sbeity began selling homemade hummus to their colleagues and friends, and then at the farmer’s market. This opened up the opportunity for catering, cooking classes, and an expanded product line in stores. As their popularity grew, so did their dreams, and in November 2016, Laziz Kitchen opened its first location to the Salt Lake City community, while Derek began his journey in local politics. In 2022, Laziz expanded even more with new partners to Laziz Kitchen/Laziz Foods Group, the Netto and the Hannon family. Since then, Laziz has opened 2 additional locations and the Back Door Lounge."

Please keep all personal conflicts at the door. This community is small enough that you will see people you may not like out and about. If you think that you cannot handle this cordially, do not attend.
