Gearoid McCarthy is one of Ireland’s finest young voices. An All-Ireland Champion Sean Nos singer in his youth, Gearoid has continually developed his music over recent years and now is a master of a wide range of genres.
Having cut his teeth in the session scene in west Limerick, Gearoid became a full time professional musician at the age of 18 and has performed all over the world since then.
As a founder member of the legendary Irish band, “Mad For Road”, Gearoid enjoyed significant fame through their exposure on Irish TV when they reached the final of “The All Ireland Talent Show” – Ireland’s version of the X Factor. With a unique sound that blends traditional folk influences with contemporary indie flair,
Gearoid is poised to captivate audiences across the nation and worldwide. Only his second original single, Going Out For One promises an exciting evolution of his sound.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Mumford & Sons, Christy Moore and Luke Kelly, his music is infused with raw emotion, poetic lyrics, and a captivating blend of traditional and modern instrumentation.
