These sessions, payable termly are to support young people through the East Durham Double Science course (OCR Gateway GCSE (9-1) Combined Science- J250).Rachel has supported 4 of her children and their friends through this course and I'm delighted that she's working with me to offer the same to other students wanting to improve their grades and to do far more experiments than the college tends to do.
We’ll be starting with Biology chapter 1, with practicals using the microscope, making a DNA model, experiments with enzymes, and experiments demonstrating photosynthesis. At the same time we’ll be dipping into Chapter 6 health and disease.
We are hoping to offer top-up Physics and Chemistry next year.
Who is this course for?
Year 10 starting at EDC or other college HE provision
Year 11s wanting to improve their grade
Any keen year 9 student, to get a head start
Anyone 13+ who wants to learn Biology
Cost: £140 per term
You will need to buy a copy of the textbook and provide a ring binder/lined paper.
