We’ve teamed up with the GCR to bring you a very special treat this coming Saturday and Sunday May 17th & 18th! The GCR are running their Vintage Bus Rally https://tickets.gcrailway.co.uk/events/108253 As part of that you can ride the train to the Heritage Centre from GCR stations and get into the site for free if you arrive by train! Normally entry fee of £2.50 and £1 applies if you enter the site via the Heritage Centre. There are many journey options allowing you to break your journey at the Heritage Centre to enjoy all the site as the offer with beautiful formal gardens, stunning nature trails and museums, plus the Quarry Bottom Railway short train rides, Garden Railway and Crazy Golf (small extra charge payable for those) and of course our wonderful Granite’s Coffee Shop!
If for example, you caught the train from Quorn station to Mountsorrel Station on Bond Lane, breaking your journey at the Heritage Centre, that would cost only £6 adults and £3 children. There’s then a free vintage bus shuttle to take you from Mountsorrel Station back to Quorn station!
With 6 trains each day running along the Mountsorrel branch line you won’t have long to wait for the next train. Fare prices and the train timetable can be found on the GCR website at the link above.
