GBH - legends of the UK punk scene whose logo is painted on the back of a thousand studded leather jackets make a welcome return to New Zealand. Don't miss your chance to see these pioneers of street punk!Birmingham street punk legends GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm) are finally returning to Aotearoa, ram-raiding punters' earholes in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland this coming March. Formed in 1978 and still led by co-founders Colin Abrahall (vox) and guitarist Colin "Jock" Blyth, veteran bassist Ross Lomas (who joined very early on in 1980) and later recruit Scott Preece on drums (from '94 onwards) — an uninterrupted active run of nearly 50 years — GBH's furious sonic assault was massively influential on the development of hardcore punk, thrash metal / NWOBHM, and even proto-black metal pioneers Bathory and Celtic Frost.
With twelve studio albums under their belts, including their breakout 1982 first album City Baby Attacked by Rats (which achieved number 17 on the charts, "in between a Jimi Hendrix collection and Paul McCartney"), compilation of early 7" / EP releases Leather, Bristles, No Survivors and Sick Boys...
