Ramzy Baroud has argued for more than 20 years that Gaza is the epicentre of the Palestinian struggle, not because of its geographical location, resources or size but because of the sumud, the steadfast resistance, of its people, which has made it impossible for Israel to pursue its settler-colonial expansion without consequences.
The events of the last eight months, he says, have fully borne this out.
Ramzy Baroud is a US-Palestinian journalist and author. He has been editor of the since 1999, and was formerly managing editor of .
His books, which have been translated into Arabic, French, Korean, Malayalam and Turkish among other languages, include (2009), (2018) and (2020). Most recently, he co-edited with Ilan Pappé (2022).
With Samah Sabawi and Jehan Bseiso, he is co-author of the poetry collection (2016).
His journalism has been published in hundreds of newspapers and journals, from the International Herald Tribune to the Jordan Times to CounterPunch. He is also a frequent guest on television and radio worldwide.
