GAY Love Jones (Atlanta)

Cagedbirds Productions, LLC affirms the black, LGBT lived experience on screen and on stage. Through storytelling, we build community and spark conversations about issues that affect our people. We’re most known for our hit play, ‘When Boy's Exhale’ based on the movie ‘Waiting to Exhale’ which has travelled to Atlanta twice. 'GAY Love Jones' has been performed in both DC and Houston.

SYNOPSIS

An hilarious and heartfelt celebration of black queer love, poetry and DC!

Follow the staff of the poetry spot, The Sanctuary, as they find heartbreak, chosen family and love in many forms. Enjoy unforgettable spoken word performances that explore the many facets of black, LGBTQIA+ life through characters so real that they feel familiar. Will the Sanctuary become just another safe space taken from the district too soon or will this time be different?
